Wetpaint Party - Deadliest Catch V.I.P.

We heart rolling out the red carpet for our Superpainters. 40 lucky Official Deadliest Catch Fan Site star contributors and their guests gained entry to VIP parties hosted by the Discovery Channel in Philadelphia and Seattle after winning the site’s Superfan Sweepstakes .

Some of the winners traveled from as far as Philadelphia, PA and Juno, AK to attend the Seattle bash at Duke’s on Alki. There they got to swap stories with their favorite crab boat captains and crew members. A handful of folks from Wetpaint were also lucky enough to attend the seafood soiree and here follows our accounting of the evening in pictures:

Superfans Jennifer (left) and Chris (right) found time to hang with their favorite captain, Cap’n Sig.

Buzz (left) and Debbie (right) flew up from Reno, NV to attend the event. After a marathon viewing of Deadliest Catch, they were hooked.

Superfan Stephanie’s (left) night was made when Captain Phil took some time to chat with her.

Super Fans Cathy (left) and Gina (right) came all the way out from Philly and Chicago, respectfully. Cathy won an invite to the Seattle event the day after the Captains were in Philadelphia. Superfan that she is, she wasted no time in grabbing a long time friend and hopping on a plan. They even squeezed in all the sites in under 24 hours.

Of course, the featured food of the night was crab. With hot butter it was, simply put, amazing.

As the pictures will attest, a good and “crabtabulous” time was had by all. The Captains enjoyed the chance to hang out with their fans and the fans certainly got a kick out of their antics. Congratulations to all those who had the chance to join us, and we hope to have more fun events like this.

That is, if deckhand Russell approves.
