Wetpaint loses an invaluable team member

Wurlitzer

As of approximately 1:15pm today, September 3, Wetpaint is saddened to announce that the Wurlitzer Candy Jar, which from here on will be referred to simply as, Wurlitzer, was dealt a blow of which it could not come back from. Taryn Lee, our Business Development Coordinator (pictured below) was making a routine visit to satisfy an acute chocolate craving, when a lack of coordination struck resulting in the Wurlitzer lid crashing down on the floor. Taryn has since declared herself, “unworthy of chocolate.” We’re a supportive group here at Wetpaint, and encourage Taryn to re-visit her newly acquired chocolate-phobia as quickly as possible.

“What happened was tragic,” Wetpaint CEO, Ben Elowitz said, “and has hit us all very hard. We’ll be doing our best to keep our spirits up in these hard times.”

In attempts to move forward Wetpaint has both held a moment of silence, which immediately followed the incident, as well as made initial plans to replace, if not repair the lid and get the Wurlitzer functioning at 100% once again.

Wurlitzer Broken

We all know Wurlitzer as the trusty giver that made its home on Chris’ desk (pictured above) quickly establishing itself as a staple within the company. It was an endless provider of smiles, sugar rushes, and simple pleasures that saved many Wetpainters from falling into the lull of long work hours.

Unwavering, steadfast, and always bountiful, the Wurlitzer will be deeply missed by all in the office until it is restored to its proper form.

When this came up in my feed reader, I plotzed!

Taryn, all I can say is, I’m not surprised it was you! ;)

Oh, this is a sad day. I can’t believe Wurly is dead.
